In case you haven't checked it out yet, there's a new kid's devotional radio program that is superb. Papa2many reads aloud from an outstanding book and then gives a little devotional. The first show was on discretion and the next was the "Froward mouth." Really good stuff. Check it out. I'll be tuning in with my kids! Here's the link: www.blogtalkradio.com/papa2many
Well, we spent most of the afternoon weeding out toys and cleaning out the playroom. The room looks GREAT and 5 of the kiddos are happily playing with the train table set. It's amazing what a clean room can do for a kid's imaginative playtime. Now, if I could get to the office, sitting room and school room. They all need some attention!
The boys had some room to wrestle a bit today and there's nothing more funny than hearing my 5yo saying "so ya want a piece of me???" to his big brothers. I love it when boys can be BOYS.
One more thing, a friend of mine told me about www.coinstar.com. For a limited time, if you have $40 in change, they will give you a bonus of $10. So, take that loose change in to a machine and get a little extra back! Just in time for the holidays.
Have a great day!

Horton Hears A Who
Hello! Just in case you're following along with my blogtalkradio read alouds, here's a link to a great unit study to go along with Horton Hears a Who by Dr. Seuss. (You can click on the link to the right to listen to any of the read alouds I've done so far! AND you can listen as often as you like!)

First show/Preschool idea for next show
There were some serious fumbles yesterday, but I think I've ironed out the kinks. I listened to a little tutorial today at Blogtalkradio, so I should know what I'm doing tomorrow!
If you click on one of the two links on my sidebar, you can connect to my show (it will automatically play an archived show, which is the ONLY one I have until tomorrow). And if you can't listen in at 4pm CST tomorrow, you can always listen later to the archived show. The more listeners I have, the more chances I have at getting a "prime time" slot. You can also subscribe to my show and have it automatically sent to you. If you make a link to my show (or this blog) on YOUR blog or website (directing them to the read aloud show), then it will also help generate traffic! Anyway, pass the info along to other moms of preschoolers, elem. age kids and any other kiddo that would like to be read to! I actually like this time slot, b/c it seems to work for several folks in different time zones. (For example, I have a friend out west and she can set her little one down to listen to the show when she wakes from her nap. And if your littles are anything like mine, they start to get a little cranky around 4-5 as they are waiting for dinner.) SO, here's your solution!
One more thought: I'll be reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle on Thursday (4/10) and I KNOW there are several resources online to go along with this book if y
ou wanted to make a lapbook or do a unit. Here's one site for preschool ideas:http://www.eric-carle.com/bb-VHC.html
(I will try to link to some more tonight). THEN, you can listen to my reading of the book anytime you want your child to hear it for a week, 2 weeks, however long you want to work with this book!
Enjoy! I am so thrilled to be able to share my storytelling with you!

My latest Venture
Yes, there's something else on my plate. Something I truly enjoy (and so do my children). Read alouds. What child doesn't LOVE to be read to? Well, since it seems to be done quite often at my house, I decided to share it with any other children that would like to listen. So, plan to listen at blogtalkradio.com (you can search with keywords "read alouds") or click on the link attached to this post OR click on the sidebar for BTR which will start a current story (I only have one at the time of this posting, but am very excited). I realize I have some tweaking to do, but am really looking forward to this fun experience, and I hope your children will enjoy tuning in!
Next show is Thur., 4/10 at 4pm CST. You can also listen anytime if you miss it, but if you listen to it LIVE, you can call in and talk to me or the kids and make suggestions or comment.
Thanks to all my friends and family that keep up with this blog and follow me through my journey of communication!
WELCOME
I've started a list of products with "tried and true" large family recommendations. Everything listed will not work for every family, but hey, if I can save someone else the time of searching the web for all these resources, then it would be worth it.
For homeschooling families, I will post links to sites for all types of subjects, resources, and curriculum. Once again, most of these links will be particular favorites that have been successful for our family, or for other homeschool families. Remember, “tried and true” will be our mantra!
Remember that I constantly update links, add links and categories ALL THE TIME. Also, if you don't see a favorite link that you LOVE, post it here in a link and I will get it uploaded.
